Press Release: University of Montana’s Sigma Nu plants trees with Sussex School, Oct. 27
In order to give back to the community in which they live, Sigma Nu at the University of Montana, is helping with a tree planting at Sussex School this Sunday, Oct. the 27th. Thirty of Sigma Nu’s Fraternity brothers are teaming up with Sussex School to plant native trees on their campus in an effort to re-ve…getate, increase bird habitat, and improve the environment, one tree at a time.
Sussex was founded in 1971 and has been under the direction of Robyn Gaddy, since 2007. Under her tenure the school has become Montana’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified school with two new buildings, inaugurated in 2011. The new facility and 2.5 acre campus houses a science lab, nine classrooms, a courtyard, solar panels, an auditorium, and a kitchen for the school’s students and staff. The school’s enrollment has increased from 86 to 125 since 2007. Sussex School has graduated over 290 students in Missoula in its 43 years of operations.
Dear Family, Friends and Business Associates,
I’m proud to tell you that I’m going “behind bars” to help in the fight against muscle disease. I’m joining other community leaders to help raise critical funds for MDA, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and I need your help to reach my bail! There are approximately 500 families with muscular dystrophy in Montana, with over 100 families residing in Missoula and surrounding areas. 100% of the funds raised for this event remain in Montana to help the families in our community with wheelchairs, equipment, summer camp for our children, clinics and support group.
MDA pays for every child between the ages of 6-17 to attend a special summer camp in Gold Creek, MT (Camp Mak-a-Dream). The cost to send one child to camp is $800. The summer camp is a very special time of the year for children with neuromuscular diseases and designed specifically for children with muscular dystrophy.
The Missoula Lock Up takes place on June 20th , 2013 at Jakers but I’m raising my bail before I go to jail! All you have to do is cut and paste the following link into your Internet Browser to make a secure, online donation today. Your support will help families living in our community with muscle disease, and help guarantee that I get out of jail. I will be sure to add you to my list of contributors.
