University of Montana’s Sigma Nu plants trees with Sussex School

Press Release: University of Montana’s Sigma Nu plants trees with Sussex School, Oct. 27

In order to give back to the community in which they live, Sigma Nu at the University of Montana, is helping with a tree planting at Sussex School this Sunday, Oct. the 27th.  Thirty of Sigma Nu’s Fraternity brothers are teaming up with Sussex School to plant native trees on their campus in an effort to re-ve…getate, increase bird habitat, and improve the environment, one tree at a time.

Jim Grover, Philanthropy Chair of Sigma Nu and Matthew Olson Sigma Nu alumnus have spearheaded this service project. According to Jim, “As Sigma Nu’s, we are committed to being leaders in service in our local community and the world over. Missoula is our home, and it is our duty and our privilege to leave it better than we found it.”
This past summer Sussex School lost four old vine maples to age, leaving a huge hole in the campus.  The school has raised money to purchase native trees to re-vegetate the campus and has connected with Sigma Nu to help prep the site and plant the trees before the winter comes. The work day will begin at 9:30am and conclude at 12pm on the 27th.
